POSITIONS


Guest Services/Assistant

We are looking for people who can give exceptional guest service and be a general assistant for our guides

Qualities: 

  • Excellent guest/customer service skills
  • Calm and engaging
  • Well organized
  • Tidy and efficient

Skills & Certifications: 

  • Class V Drivers License (Class IV Drivers License a plus)
  • Physically able to hike to look out locations
  • Photography skills
  • Answering phones and booking trips
  • Computer apps knowledge- Picture editing, calendar management, document editing/sharing

Responsibilities: 

  • Greets guests and checks them in for trips
  • Help fit guests gear
  • Monitor safety channels
  • Keep office clean and stocked for guests
  • Drive the shuttles to pick up locations
  • Take photos of the trip in progress
  • Edit photos of the trip for guests to purchase
  • Help clean and manage gear when it returns
  • Cash management/record keeping
  • Other office tasks as required

Whitewater Rafting Guides & Instructors

Qualities: 

  • Good work ethic
  • Able to work unsupervised
  • Strong safety and risk assessment
  • Friendly and engaging

Certifications: 

  • Senior or Trip Leader Guide License
  • Swiftwater Rescue Technician
  • Wilderness First Aid 50hr. (80hr. Preferred)
  • Class IV Drivers License
  • 3 Years of Whitewater Guiding Experience (Rafting or Kayaking)
  • Class IV Whitewater Kayaking or Rafting Experience

Responsibilities: 

  • Gear and equipment maintenance
  • Guide guests in safety demonstrations
  • Creating a positive guest experience
  • Set up and take down of trip gear

Whitewater Kayaking Instructor

Qualities: 

  • Good work ethic
  • Able to work unsupervised
  • Strong safety and risk assessment
  • Friendly and engaging

Certifications: 

  • Level 2 Kayak Instructor Leader / Instructor – Canoe and Kayak Canada (or Equivalent)
  • Swiftwater Rescue Technician (SRT 1)
  • Wilderness First Aid 50hr. (80hr. Preferred)
  • Class IV Drivers License
  • 3 Years Whitewater Guiding Experience (Rafting or Kayaking)
  • Class IV Whitewater Kayaking Experience

Responsibilities: 

  • Gear and equipment maintenance
  • Guide guests in safety demonstrations
  • Creating a positive guest experience
  • Set up and take down of trip gear

Guiding Operations Manager

We are looking for someone with proven leadership experience who can oversee the day-to-day operations and risk management of our river activities.

Qualities: 

  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Strong Technical river knowledge and skills
  • Proven leadership and supervisory/management skills
  • Friendly and engaging customer service focus

Certifications: 

  • Swiftwater Rescue Technician
  • Wilderness First Aid 50hr. (80hr. Preferred)
  • Class IV Drivers License
  • Post Secondary Diploma or Degree in Outdoor Education or Tourism(Not required but an asset)
  • 4 Years Whitewater Guiding Experience (Rafting or Kayaking)
  • Advanced River Kayak Instructor (Not required but an asset)
  • Advanced River Kayak Instructor (Not required but an asset)

Responsibilities: 

  • Manages all riverstaff including, Rafting Guides, Whitewater KayakInstructors, Shuttle Drivers and Photographers
  • Preventative maintenance of all equipment and gear
  • Guides Training and Trip Development programs
  • Liaising with guests/clients, ensuring operating and industry standards are met
  • Ensures all access and egress points on operational rivers are maintained and developed
  • Ensures that all OH&S legislation and regulations are being adhered to asper our Risk Management and Emergency Response Program

Apprentice Instructor

This is a development position designed to train and develop aspiring guides and may lead to a guiding position if progression is quick. Depending on your experience you will spend your summer outside experiencing all aspects of the river operations, everything from driving shuttle, riverside photography, kayaking as well as learning the ins and outs of guiding.  Gain knowledge and experience by working alongside our senior staff members. All applicants should have the following:

  • Wilderness First Aid 50hr (80hr. preferred)
  • Swift Water Rescue Technician
  • River Kayak Skills (not required but an asset)
  • Class IV Drivers License

Employment includes lodging, training and skill development opportunities, competitive wages starting at $25-30/hour(depending on experience), and a fun work environment with an emphasis on safety and creating great guest experiences.
